Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Chief of Staff to support our COO in driving partnerships, project execution, and organizational efficiency. This high-level role requires an experienced individual capable of taking on significant responsibilities to ensure smooth operations and effective management within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Support: Collaborate with the COO to develop and execute strategic projects that align with Function's development
  • Partnership Development: Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders. Facilitate seamless communication and coordination between the COO and other pillars, promoting a culture of collaboration and information sharing.
  • Operational Efficiency: Streamline and optimize operational processes across the organization, ensuring efficient resource allocation, effective project management, and continuous improvement. Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and implement best practices to support sustainable growth.
  • Project Monitoring: Help in the drafting and maintenance of project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget constraints.
  • Issue Resolution: Monitor product progress, help identify any issues that arise, and propose solutions to ensure project continuity and success
  • Communication and Liaison: Serve as a liaison with staff, executives, senior leaders, and external partners regarding company climate, employee well-being, project updates, proposals, and planning. Provide direct communications support to the COO, including drafting company newsletters, board presentations, speeches, and emails.
  • Meeting and Event Facilitation: Manage the cadence and preparation for board meetings, ensuring materials are sent in advance, time is well spent, and objectives are achieved. Facilitate strategic planning processes by setting up meetings, facilitating discussions, and following up on action items.
  • Administrative Duties: Schedule and manage the COO’s calendar, coordinate meetings, appointments, and travel arrangements. Prepare and organize materials for meetings, presentations, and conferences. Manage communications on behalf of the COO, including emails, calls, and correspondence.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and efficiency in all tasks. This is the most important skill for this role.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Language: Must be fluent in English.
  • Proactivity: Independent self-starter, and proactive mindset with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred but not required.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Familiarity with Health Technologies: Knowledge of or experience with popular health technologies, such as Oura, Whoop, Apple Watch, and CGMs (Continuous Glucose Monitors). An interest in or experience with health and wellness technologies suggests a passion for leveraging technology to improve personal and community health outcomes.

  • What is Function’s approach to remote work? Function is 100% remote across the United States, from Austin to New York to San Francisco. We meet up in person on occasion.

  • What’s the interview process like? You’ll meet with our Co-Founder & COO, Pranitha Patil. On this call, we’re looking to understand your experience, interests, and if you’re a culture fit. Then, you’ll have a Co-Founders interview, where you’ll meet the other co-founders that have built and run the company. After that we’ll send an offer. If we don’t give an offer, we’ll be sure to provide feedback.
